Hello Hello Again
Well, it’s been a busy two months.
It’s nice to be back here again, sitting in my blog-writing chair and saying hello to all the nice people out in blog-land again.
(No, I will not use the word blogosphere.)
When last we chatted, I talked about my decision to abandon the AI-Coder project. Sixty-two days later, I’m pretty happy with that decision. Especially in light of the United States Congress’ recent prohibition on the funding of gambling-related websites.
The feds are now gearing up to implement some nasty set of penalties for credit card companies that knowingly facilitate transactions between US citizens and online gambling houses. The financial institutions have already started to block these transactions. And the online poker rooms have preemptively stopped accepting memberships from players in the USA. Everyone is covering his or her ass.
Even if I hadn’t been spooked two months ago by the daunting legal landscape in the wagered-game-of-skill industry, I’d be seriously spooked now.
So I’ve made other plans.
If you recall my antecedent posts on the subject, I evaluated 28 different software business ideas, narrowing down the list of projects until only five remained. It was from that penultimate list of five that I finally chose the doomed AI-Coder project.
Pretty quickly after scrapping my AI-Coder plans, though, I made a new project decision and started laying the technical groundwork for the new software. At this point, I’ve written about five thousand lines of code for the new software. (I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.) I’m pretty pleased.
Funny thing, though. In the course of writing the new software, I needed an important technical component, and I was unhappy with all the existing components in the marketplace. So I started writing some of my own infrastructure. (When you hear what I’ve decided to do, your dentures will slip out of your mouth and into your bowl of cheerios.)
Also, I’ve been wood by the siren song of a new hobby project. As silly and outrageous as it sounds, I’m currently diverting quite a bit of my personal development time into a fun project from which I expect zero financial reward.
So yes, dear friends, I’m currently working on three big projects.
I’ll start telling you all about them tomorrow.

Welcome back. I look forward to hearing what you’ve been up to. Let us know how much time and effort you’ve been putting into all of these projects and how you’ve avoided burnout.

Ah, that’s easy. I’m a workaholic.

“… I’m a workaholic.”
Even workohilics need to sleep. Three projects at once … hmm.
